School Premiums

Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is additional funding provided to schools for supporting certain pupils to ensure they benefit from the same opportunities as other children.

Please read the following reports for details of how we intend to spend our allocation for the current academic year, how we spent our previous academic year’s allocation and how it made a difference to our pupils:

PE and Sports Premium

At St. Mary’s we aim to provide a rich and varied programme of sport. This includes competitive and non-competitive games which  ensure our children develop appropriate attitudes and skills.

Whilst games is taught as part of the PE National Curriculum, at St. Mary’s we offer the children the opportunity to take part in a variety of age appropriate extra-curricular activities. These are open to children regardless of gender or ability.

Covid-19 Catch-up Funding

The government has provided funding to cover a one-off universal catch-up premium for the 2020 to 2021 academic year. The premium aims to support pupils to catch up for lost learning so schools can meet the curriculum expectations for the next academic year.

Recovery Premium Funding

Children and young people across the country have experienced unprecedented disruption to their education as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Recovery premium forms part of the national recovery programme which has been designed to mitigate against the effects of the unique disruption caused by the pandemic and restore pupil attainment to previous high levels.  The premium is made up of two funding streams: the Covid Recovery Premium and the School-Led Tutor Funding Grant.
