At St Mary’s one of our aims is to provide the children with a range of activities that will enable them to develop their independence, resilience, problem solving and self confidence. The Olympics Challenge Day for year five taught them a great deal about the qualities needed to be an Olympian and also to develop their leadership skills. The following images show part of their intensive training which will soon be put into action when they deliver games to younger children at play times.
The children researched the achievements of Olympians then wrote some amazing newspaper articles totally independently!
