This morning, Year 1 discovered a spaceship crash in St. Mary's garden and used their detective skills to try and work out who it belonged to. Year 1 visited Portland Basin museum to learn all about toys from the past. We played with skittles, diabolo, yo-yo's, ball and cup, music boxes and many more toys from the Victorian times. We compared old and new toys and even learned about a Victorian Christmas.
Class 1J have been writing stories based on Hansel and Gretel and solving problems in maths so they can escape from the Witch’s Castle and have invited their parents to come into school on Friday morning to share their work with them.

Santa was able to squeeze a visit to St. Mary’s into his busy schedule. First of all he had requested a ‘pupil progress’ meeting with Ms Reeves, then with a big smile on his face he visited our EYFS classes and Years 1 and 2 who all sang their favourite Christmas songs for him.

Congratulations to our Year 1 children who raised a fantastic £126.74 for Macmillan Cancer Care during their Rainforest Cafe morning.
The children sang specially chosen songs and acted out the story of 'Dear Zoo'.
They then read their individual 'Dear Rainforest' stories to their mums and dads.
