Year 6 Crucial Crew and Victorian School

On Friday 7th October the pupils from Year 6 enjoyed a trip to Crucial Crew, followed by a visit to the Victorian School, at Portland Basin.

At Crucial Crew the children learned about fire safety, contacting and speaking to the police, looking after and staying safe in the country side, dealing with hate crime, and other issues that arise as they grow up. At each of the stations the teams were awarded points, and it was team 7 that came out on top. The children really enjoyed their time at Crucial Crew and learnt an awful lot.

After having some lunch the children then went back in time to the Victorian Era. Here they met their extremely strict school mistress. The children were really put through their paces, having their finger nails checked, chanting their times tables and writing using slate boards and pencils. Obadiah, Albert and Ava all behaved well although their was one ‘bare-faced liar’ who had to receive a rather harsh punishment! Finally, the children had to bow or curtsy to the ‘school inspector’ on their way out of the school!

Again, the children were exceptionally well behaved and it was commented on by members of the public and staff and both centers how polite, well behaved and enthusiastic the children were. Well don Year 6.
