Friends of St Mary’s (FOSM)

At St. Mary’s R.C. School, the pupils’ education is seen as a partnership between home and school. Strong links with parents are regarded as essential.

Who Are the Friends of St Mary’s (FOSM)?

Friends of St Mary’s (FOSM) is an active organisation which exists to enable parents and teachers to support the school in a practical way, by fundraising for long term projects which meet the needs of the school. The FOSM also helps to build effective parent – teacher communication through a varied programme of social events and meetings. All parents and carers are automatically members of the FOSM and involvement in the work of the association is valued and warmly encouraged.

The FOSM stay in touch via our FOSM e-mail service.  If you are interested in joining the FOSM you can e-mail on FOSM@stmarysdenton.com

Have you heard of Parent View?

parent-view-logoParent View is an Ofsted service that allows parents to give their views about this school at any time of the year, by completing a simple online questionnaire. At the time of an Ofsted inspection, parents are also invited to give inspectors their views using Parent View.

Parent View asks for your opinion on 12 aspects of school, from the  quality of teaching, to dealing with any issues relating to bullying or  poor behaviour. You are able to highlight the strengths of school also.

At St. Mary’s we strive to ensure that any issues brought to our attention by parents are dealt with swiftly and to the satisfaction of all.

The leaflet attached below gives a useful overview of the service and if you’d like to have your say then follow just this link to the Parent View website to get started.
