The Victorians certainly came to life in Year 1 when the children visited Portland Basin. They discovered the similarities and differences between their life in Denton today and that of Victorian children living in Tameside – at home, school and at work!!!! The children also found out why canals were built and also paid a visit to a replica Victorian pub!!
