At St. Mary’s R.C. School, the pupils’ education is seen as a partnership between home and school. Strong links with parents are regarded as essential. St. Mary’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is an active organisation which exists to enable parents and teachers to support the school in a practical way, by fundraising for long term projects which meet the needs of the school. The PTA also helps to build effective parent – teacher communication through a varied programme of social events and meetings. All parents and carers are automatically members of the PTA and involvement in the work of the association is valued and warmly encouraged.

The KS2 children enjoyed the film night run by the PTA here at school on Wednesday. They had the opportunity to watch “Khumba – A Zebra’s Tale” and all enjoyed a delicious snack bag. The children’s behaviour was excellent. Thank you to the PTA who organised this event.
To celebrate the Parish and school’s feast day of Our Lady of Sorrows the whole school was treated to a very special surprise. During the afternoon the children were treated to an ice cream or ice lolly and an extra play to celebrate this special day. The surprise was enjoyed by all (especially the staff) who would like to thank the PTA for putting on the ice creams.
Attached are the minutes of the PTA meeting held at school on 11th January together with the current Treasurer’s report
