Four of our Y6 children attended the Year of Faith Mass at Salford Cathedral with Ms Reeves and Mrs Evans along with children from about 80 diocesan schools The children presented a ‘Good Shepherd’ banner which they had made during mass. The banner will form part of a specially designed altar cloth which will be used throughout the diocese. The children enjoyed juice and biscuits after mass.

St. Mary’s children make a positive contribution
We aim to develop in the children an awareness of their wider community, and to foster practical service and charity towards others both locally and globally. We do this by involving the children in charity fundraising throughout the year.
In February 2013, we raised £176.50 for CAFOD through a non uniform day. Thank you for your generosity.
We are currently raising funds for Caritas through the St. Joseph’s Penny collection. To date, we have collected £100.90. Once again, many thanks. If you have not already done so, please return your box to school by Monday 25th March.
On 15th March, we will be having a non uniform day in support of Comic Relief. The children are asked to wear something red in return for a donation.
