The Year 6 Children took the brisk walk up to St John Fisher to participate in the blessing of the wildlife garden, the garden is part of the initiative from the parish ‘Global Healing Team’ to provide an area that attracts all sorts of wildlife and in particular those species that are struggling to flourish in our current climate change crises – such as the bee. The children performed a poem about creation using their choral speaking skills and then planted bulbs in the garden ready for the new growth in Spring. We then were able to share with the parishioners the work we have been doing within school to support the work of the ‘Global Healing Team’ and their drive against climate change. A great opportunity for the children to once again consider the impact of human actions on our environment.
