In F2, we have been learning about the festival of Diwali through videos, photos and books. We learned that Diwali is the festival of lights and is a very special time for some people around the world. We loved looking at the special traditional clothes that people wear to celebrate, watching the fantastic firework displays, seeing the beautiful mendi hand patterns, learning about the delicious food and dancing to the traditional music. We have explored these traditions through our play.
In F1 we have also been busy learning about Diwali, we read a book called ‘Little Glow’ which told us a story about this special celebration. We created Rangoli patterns, created firework play dough and paintings as well as making cards and our very own Diva lamps to keep at home. Great learning F1!
