All the children in Year 5 are currently learning to play the guitar and have a weekly lesson with Mr Horner (Tameside Music Service). The children have been loaned a guitar for the year and are encouraged to practise regularly at home. On Monday, the children performed a number of songs in front of the whole school and their parents. The children have made excellent progress in a short space of time and are rightly proud of their achievements. This enrichment provision is subsidised by school and we hope that children will be encouraged to continue to learn a musical instrument when they are in Year 6 and / or at high school.
All our KS2 children have the opportunity to play an instrument in a small group (ensemble) with specialist tuition from Tameside Music Service. Information packs are available from the School Office
