We have some exciting new visitors in our classroom: five tiny caterpillars! They are living on our discovery table and we are excited to watch them grow. Today, we found out about the life cycle of a butterfly and found out some interesting facts… Did you know that butterflies have no eyelids so cannot close their eyes? We also learned that butterflies have a long, curled up tongue called a proboscis that they use to drink the nectar. Our new vocabulary is nectar, proboscis, cocoon and chrysalis. Please talk to your children about our wriggly friends.
