On Wednesday 10th September had the chance to meet Corporal Tommy Atkins from the Manchester Regiment. The children were introduced to Corporal Atkins during a whole school assembly, before having the chance to at life for a soldier during World War One in more depth during class workshops. As well as learning about life on the front line, a number of children had the opportunity to try out genuine kit, uniforms and the chance to hold a WW1 rifle.
The children has a fantastic day and learnt a lot about the life of a soldier during WW1.
